Bluegrass Realtors® presented its highest awards for 2022 at the recent Installation Luncheon and Member Recognition Meeting – Realtor® of the Year and Good Neighbor – honoring outstanding Realtors® within the Association. Additionally, three individuals were recognized with the President’s Award.

Deni Hamilton was named Bluegrass Realtors®’ Realtor® of the Year for 2022. She is with Coldwell Banker McMahan in Georgetown and has been a member of Bluegrass Realtors® for over 42 years. Hamilton has served the Association on the Professional Standards committee for over 20 years and served as chair multiple times. She was on the board of the Realtor® Community Housing Foundation (RCHF) for well over a decade and served in every leadership role and is also a Life Member of the Top Producers Club.

Hamilton has served as chairperson and co-chairperson for the Scott County Homebuilders Repair Affair for a number of years and has helped her community in immeasurable ways. She helped raise over $30,000 in 3 years for the Holy Trinity Boots and Pearls Community Fundraiser, has served on the Georgetown Community Hospital Board for 15 years as the longest serving member, has helped with the Scott County Women’s Club Derby Party fundraiser and Project Graduation Decorating program for half a decade each and is a current board member for the Yuko-En on the Elkhorn Japanese Friendship Garden. Additionally, she has served as a Scott County Youth Cheerleading Coach, worked on the Toyota Classic Basketball Tournament and supported many other organizations in and around Scott County.

Growing up, she spent her early life on the move in an Air Force family as she moved 18 times and attended 14 different schools before graduating high school in Juneau, Alaska. She attended Western Kentucky University, where she completed grad school, earning degrees in art and psychology.

The Good Neighbor Award was presented to Christy Rock, an agent with Milestone Realty Consultants in Georgetown and member of Bluegrass Realtors® since 2012. Rock serves as president of a non-profit organization called Carin for Nurses that raises money and provides financial assistance for nurses and their families during their most desperate times. The organization is named after her sister, Carin, who started the non-profit in 2012 but passed away in 2016 after bravely fighting breast cancer for 12 years. Rock picked up from there and now carries the torch in her honor. In fact, she has given over 500 hours and raised over $9,000 just this past year to Carin for Nurses. Additionally, she gives dozens of hours a year to both the Amen House in Georgetown where they help distribute and deliver commodities to seniors, and to Operation North Pole, a charity that provides a magical fantasy trip for a family with a child battling a life-threatening illness.

At the Association, Rock was most recently as a member of the Community Education & Outreach Committee and has given countless hours of time to read and drop off books to elementary schools, ringing the bell for the Salvation Army during Realtor® Ring Day and delivering donation checks to non-profit organizations during the holidays. She has also volunteered with the Young Professional Network (YPN) to serve meals to dozens of people at the Ronald McDonald House.

The President’s Award, an honor bestowed by the Association’s president, was given to Bonnie Mays, broker/owner of United Real Estate; Dwan Taylor, Executive Director of RCHF; and Justin Landon, CEO of Bluegrass Realtors®, for their dedicated service to the Association over the past year.
