The Realtor® Community Housing Foundation (RCHF) donated $10,000 towards flood relief efforts to Appalachian Regional Healthcare Foundation for Healthier Communities (ARH), a Kentucky non-profit organization that operates throughout Eastern Kentucky and Southern West Virginia. This funding through RCHF, the charitable arm of Bluegrass Realtors®, comes as part of the goal to empower families and strengthen communities. 100% of the funds given to ARH will go directly towards recovery efforts for the recent floods in Eastern Kentucky and surrounding areas.

“We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of Realtor® Community Housing Foundation and their commitment to supporting those impacted by the devastating floods. At the ARH Foundation, 100% of donations go right back into the communities and to the people who need them most,” said Angela Bailey, Executive Director of the ARH Foundation for Healthier Communities.

During the weekend of February 15-16, amid one of the many severe winter advisories, Kentucky endured damaging widespread flooding. The state saw a range of 2-6 inches of rainfall during traveling thunderstorms which caused rivers and creeks to overflow. Destructive winds and large hail led to more than 40,000 homes and businesses to be left without power and access to necessities such as clean water, many of which were located in the eastern part of the state. Over 300 roads were closed and thousands of families left without their homes.

"Kentucky has faced unimaginable hardships from disasters in recent years. From the devastating 2021 tornadoes in western Kentucky to the catastrophic flooding in eastern Kentucky in 2022, communities have been left struggling. RCHF stepped up then, and now, in partnership with ARH, we’re ensuring donations go directly to those in need. But the recovery is far from over. As the waters recede, the real work begins, and more help is needed. Please give what you can to support these communities,” said Jason Scolf, president of RCHF.
